A 16GB version of Apple’s iPhone could be released in time for Christmas, according to the latest rumours surrounding the iPod/mobile phone hybrid. A MacRumor forum posting shows pictures of the device (which looks strangely identical to an 8GB iPhone) and claims the images have been authored by an “Apple employee”.
The report claims the phones are already in stock and that the launch of the new higher capacity devices will be imminent, handy for the Christmas market and UK iPhone launch.
Additional rumours this morning presage the termination of Apple’s existing Mac mini range.
Apple Insider is also reporting that Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard is still on track for a 26 October release, despite that the software hasn’t yet reached golden master status.
