Having moved on from an apparent pillow/cushion fixation some months ago we now seem, judging by our latest posts, to be rapidly developing a curious fixation with alarm clocks and clocks in general (at least it’s a step in the right direction, I suppose) and, of the alarm clocks we’ve previously featured, the Mr Light iPod style dawn/dusk simulating table lamp alarm clock is one of the most desirable we’ve come across to date.
Firstly, let’s be straight here, this device (regardless of sporting navigational controls that bear more than a passing resemblance to those of Apple’s ubiquitous MP3 player) is not an MP3 device – which is a bit of a shame really and we cannot help but think that the manufactures have missed a trick here.
However, whilst this Mr Light is incapable of waking you to your favourite play list what is can do is ease you gently out of your slumber in the morning with a dawn simulating light (or, in other words, a light that gradually increases in intensity) as well as offer a dusk simulation (yes, you guessed it, the light gradually fades out).
No, it’s not rocket science and, no, it’s by no means the first dawn/dusk simulating alarm clock/light combo out there but what it is, certainly, is one of the most appealing we’ve seen that, thanks to its narrow base, should be at ease on even the most cluttered of bedside tables.
Now if only they could come up with an alarm clock that doesn’t bother to wake us up at all but quietly slips out to work on our behalf after feeding Tiddles the Wondercat.
The Dr Light iPod Style Dawn/Dusk Simulating Table Lamp Alarm Clock retails for $198,000HKD – which is approximately $25/ €18 / £12.
