The well known French mobile phone services company, Orange, in partnership with Alcatel and BIC, has recently launched a mobile phone device called “Bic Phone”. One of the main features of this curious cellphone is the unpack-and-talk option, which means that as soon as you will unpack the device, you can use it to make phone calls, listen to radio or send a SMS.

The phone will come with a ready-charged battery, and a 60 minutes “mobicarte” prepaid SIM card from Orange, that will remain valid for 2 months. Priced at €49 or $72, the device comes with a phone number that will be active for at least 12 months after activation/purchase.
It seems to be a reliable solution for customers that need a second line, or a back-up phone (it can be used when advertising the sale of an apartment or a car).
Although this device was not designed as a disposable or throwaway device or product, it was definitely designed and packed to look that way, so next time you will find yourself in a supermarket, don’t forget to add the BIC Phone to your basket, it might come in handy, specially when you have a jealous partner.
