Nokia has inadvertently confirmed the existence of a future device today through an openly accessible product page. The 8208 will be the first non-Nseries phone from Nokia to sport a two-way slider that helps the new device’s music-heavy focus: sliding the display downwards reveals controls for navigating tracks and will presumably switch the phone to its music interface from other menus. The phone also promises a native 3.5mm headphone jack, a three-megapixel camera, and either assisted GPS in China or stand-alone GPS elsewhere.

The pages also reveal the 8208 to be one of Nokia’s rare high-end CDMA phones and will equally be the first from the Finnish company to support faster EVDO Revision A access on supporting networks. A special 8208C version is planned for China Unicom, but the release points to a likely release of the handset in North America for carriers such as Bell or Verizon.

No clues are given to the release date, though the existence of a product page hints at a relatively close introduction for either model.

In addition to recently leaked Samsung GT-B2700 rugged phone, Samsung is prepping another interesting GT handset to the market.

And this time it’s not about durability, but about cool innovative music features.

The new Samsung GT-M5310 is a ultra-thin music phone with the innovative music player that can be controlled via various movements. Shaking in various directions, turning the phone upside down, etc’; brings up various functions.

Samsung M5310 specs include:

* 2.5G GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity
* 2″ QVGA 262K color display
* 2 megapixel camera
* FM Radio with RDS
* 20MB of user memory
* microSD memory card slot
* Built-in movement sensor
* USB 2.0, Bluetooth, 3.5 mm headphone jack
* Dimensions: 109×46×9.9 mm

Unsubsidized Samsung M3510 price is expected to be somewhere around 200-250 Eur

Of course, these days the movement/shake control is nothing really new. Sony Ericsson has been doing this for more then a year already.

Still, it’s good to see other cellphone vendors getting on board, and dedicated music/gaming phones look like a perfect gadget for us to get used to these new shaking features.

UNLOCKING TECHNOLOGY developed for Iphone users has been applied to a wide range of 3G mobile phones by UK based 24/7 Mobile Solutions. In some cases you need to drill a hole in your existing GSM SIM card, though.

Essentially, the product – Simable – puts a fake SIM under a subscribers existing SIM card to fool the handset into working with any network. So it effectively unlocks the phone.

The device will be exceedingly attractive to many 3G handset owners because the likes of Nokia have made it very difficult to unlock such phones using software ‘cracks’ alone.

Another advantage to this product is that it doesn’t actually damage the handset itself. Hence, if anything goes wrong with the phone you can return it to the supplier and still get a repair under warranty.

The only snag is that for the Simable to work inside certain 3G handsets it is necessary to make a hole in a standard SIM card. Luckily, 24/7 supplies a suitable hole punch that can very easily do the job for you.

The cost is £16.99 ($33.26) plus shipping. It’s obvious that 24/7 is looking for distributors for this in other countries, too. There’s a list of which handsets are compatible with Simable here.

So, you think that for mobile phone gaming to succeed, the phones should have a massive memory, graphics processing capabilities, big screens and other things that makes them popular on desktops?

But what about the tons of massively popular games that are already out there from years ago? They did not need and didn’t have anything of the above. In fact, your current average handset is much more powerful computer then a PC or gaming console you had 10-15 years ago.

So why not take a popular gaming system, like NES, put it’s software emulator into a phone, add some accessories like D-Pad for game control, an run with it. You already have a tons of ready to go cheap games and a nostalgic fan base to boot.

Well, that’s exactly what Lenovo is thinking with their new Lenovo i909 gaming phone.

Lenovo i909 is a good looking candybar handset with 2.4″ 262K color QVGA TFT display, 2 megapixel camera, microSD memory card slot, mp3 and video player, 111.4 × 50.2 × 15.5 mm dimensions and 112.8 gr weight. Overall, traditional, well designed, low to mid-end handset.

What makes Lenovo i909 special – is a software emulator that let’s you play NES games on it, and a cool D-pad controller that attaches to the phone and makes your gaming experience even more fun.

Looks like a nice idea, which, unfortunately, will be available only in China for now.

Right on cue, Sony Ericsson’s busted out a trio of new handsets today, including it’s latest K-series model, the K660, and a pair of new Walkman phones: theW380 and W890 . As we knew yesterday, the K660 is a HSDPA handset whose big selling point is its proficiency at web browsing, including a landscape mode, among other web-friendly features. The W380 clamshell phone, on the other hand, drops the 3G, but provides plenty of the usual Walkman-related features, including gesture control, and SE’s trademark Track ID, while the W890 ups things considerably with HSDPA connectivity and a better-than-the-norm 3.2 megapixel camera. Hit up the read link below for complete specs on each handset, and look for them all to be available in the first quarter of next year.

A source has confirmed that Motorola will soon announce a PEBL style clamshell for music. The ROKR U9 follows in the footsteps of the Z6 by taking on the ROKR model name and appears to add an external color display with music controls similar to the RAZR2 to the curvy model.

No other details are known about the handset yet, though one picture clearly shows mini-USB headphones, so it appears to lack a 3.5mm jack, just like the Z6. With the U9 a clear pattern has also emerged in Moto’s naming conventions. Confirming that the each letter represents a form factor and that the 9 indicates a high-end model line that will dominate Moto’s lineup.
