Oh, and it’s loaded with TomTom Navigator 6 software to make the most of that GPS receiver. Yup, everything mostly what we thought it would be. Available this month from European retailers or SIM-free direct from HTC.

Update: We’re still digging but HTC was a bit unkind by not providing specific country launch information or supported radio bands. At the moment, this looks like Europe-only.

Europeans get lucky this week, as the Prada successor LG KS20 hits stores in France, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands and Italy. (What up, UK?) The final specs on this baby are in, and they make us terribly jealous.

It’s got 3.6Mbps HSDPA and Wi-Fi B and G, and what looks like a half-way decent web browser. There will be some built-in games and video on demand, video telephony, and a media player that will read MP3, MPEG4, WAV, 3GP, AMR-NB, WMA, AAC, AAC+ and eAAC+. We don’t even mind the Windows Mobile 6 part, given the fact that there’s a customized interface like the T-Mobile HTC Shadow or the Sprint’s HTC Touch.

I suppose the upcoming entry of Verizon’s LG Voyager to the US doesn’t preclude us from getting a KS20, but the powers that be might not want the competition this early, and LG’s relationships with other carriers are not as cuddly.

Wing who? T-Mobile today has announced the long-rumored Shadow, a Windows Mobile 6 Standard device that looks not just better than its Wing stablemate, but arguably better than just about any comparably-equipped smartphone on the market today. Besides the “slick, slider design” and a juiced version of the standard Windows Mobile 6 UI, the Shadow features a rotating jog dial front and center, 2 megapixel camera, WiFi, and a new version of T-Mobile’s myFaves interface allowing users to call, email, text, or MMS the peeps in their “fave five.” Like what you see? If you do, good, because it turns out this is just the first in a whole line of upcoming Shadow-branded phones for the carrier — a line that’ll be focusing on multimedia connectivity and slanting the work / life balance a little more to the “life” side than some of HTC’s and T-Mobile’s other smart devices (ahem, Wing, we’re looking straight at you). Grab the Shadow starting this Wednesday in “sage” or “copper” for a surprisingly reasonable $149.99 on two-year contract.
